Fuerza Unida gives over 100 bags of healthy groceries each month to our membership and the community as a whole. We view our connection to the Southside community as family, and family helps one another out! Our community garden serves as a space to host workshops centered on holistic health and to grow herbs, produce, and flowers to supplement our monthly food distribution. We specialize in growing plants that are rooted in cultural practices and that native to Texas. We invite our membership and the Southside community to join us for monthly garden workdays. Fuerza Unida hosts monthly meetings to keep members and the community informed on the issues that directly (and indirectly) affect their way of life. These topics range from healthy living to diversity and even mental health advocacy. As a part of these meetings, experts in the topics are brought in to share their knowledge. These people come from many backgrounds such as lawyers, government officials, hospital staff, and other nonprofits in the area. We aim to make these valuable resources accessible to everyone in our community, not just those with formal education and english-speakers.

Every fourth Tuesday of each month, Fuerza Unida hosts a general meeting for our members to keep them updated on all things happening within the organization. Members get to vote on behind-the-scenes decisions within Fuerza Unida and hear from professionals in different fields on important matters such as insurance help, mental health education, healthy living, and more. Members also get first access to all of our programs as well as exclusive help with translation services, legal complexities, and more.
